“As I stand in front of her, I feel calm. I designed her to represent the hollowness that plagues the darker times in my life. I had hoped to separate myself from emotions that frightened me, and be able to stand in front of them, to confront them, to conquer them. Though despite my intentions, by the time she was finished, I looked at her again and felt a lightness, a serene.
Every day I worked on her, I was forced to face fear, confusion, and self-doubt. What I thought would be a battle, transformed into diligent meditation, and eventually, a belief in myself. She helped me confront all the things she was meant to represent, not at the end, but in every moment of her creation.” -Stevennina Drassinower
